Hamsterify Privacy Policy

Hamsterify is a browser extension that replaces the text “AI” with a word of your choosing on pages you view. It is designed to collect nothing.

What Hamsterify collects

Nothing. Hamsterify does not collect, store, transmit, or sell any personal or usage data. Specifically, it does not collect browsing history, page contents, personal information, telemetry, analytics, cookies, advertising identifiers, or account information (there are no accounts).

Where your data goes

Nowhere. Hamsterify has no backend server, makes no network requests, and makes no API calls of any kind. Every text transformation happens locally, inside your browser, on the page you are currently viewing.

What is stored, and where

Your settings — chosen replacement words, the global on/off state, and any per-site exclusions — are stored locally on your device using the browser’s chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your computer and is not synchronized to any server.

Permissions

• storage — to save your replacement words and settings locally.
• activeTab — to read the current tab’s domain for the “disable on this site” toggle.
• host access (all sites) — so the text substitution can run on whatever page you choose to view. Hamsterify only reads and rewrites visible text; it never sends page contents anywhere.
